Ok so I went back and rewatched it, pain actually responded to him and said "I once looked up to you, but now hearing your response I can see the truth of it". Hanzo would lose. We know pretty much nothing about him. i think hanzo had just gotten somewhat old. 'prime' in narutoverse seems to be in the 20-40 range.
